Patricia Lavin

The career of Patricia Lavin began in the 1980’s. After attending William Paterson University from 1980-1984, travel abroad to study the classics, Minoan culture, and art history in Greece and receiving a design accreditation from Parsons School of Design in New York City, she began an occupation in the applied arts.

Working for Brass Realty Corporation in the design and development division from 1987 through 1999, Ms. Lavin gained a reputation for innovative and intellectual design approaches. This allowed her to execute and manage projects of great diversity, everything from penthouses to pool halls, Zen gardens to vintage hot rods.

After a dozen years in the commercial art world she felt a strong desire to return to her roots and focus her efforts on the fine arts. As education has always been an integral part of her experience, Ms. Lavin began further study at the Art Students League in New York City.

From 1999 to 2005 a full time course of study included drawing and theory with Anita Steckel and painting with Peter Golfinopoulos. During this period her work has won numerous awards and critical recognition. Ms. Lavin currently lives and works in New York City.
