Helene Mukhtar

Helene Mukhtar is a painter, animator and mixed media installation artist.

Born and educated in the South of France, she now lives and works in Brooklyn. She studied at the School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League in New York City and received an MFA from Florida State University.

Helene’s work has been exhibited in numerous shows and art fairs in the US and abroad. Recent solo shows and art fairs include 440 Gallery in Brooklyn, Galerie ArtSud in France, Ion Studio in Soho, the Asia Contemporary Art Fair in Hong Kong and Art for Florence Design Week in Italy. She is represented by Broadfoot & Broadfoot.

Helene’s work celebrates the human spirit and life on our planet in all its forms. Her work is typically infused with all the energy of the mediterranean sun.

As a painter, Helene Mukhtar uses acrylic paint and indulges in expressionist, abstract brush strokes and explosive colors and forms. She also creates computer animations mostly inspired by her painted work. Her action-packed animations are the fusion of abstract computer generated designs, live videos, sections of her paintings and frame by frame computer drawing rotoscoping techniques.
